Thank you to the friends of Annie's BIG Nature Lesson:
Annie's BIG Nature was established in 2002 by Betty and Jerry Mason on Kalamazoo, Michigan, providing an education program for students, teachers, and parents to develop meaningful connections with nature. Students learn about the natural world, local environmental issues, and general ecology as they conduct field investigations, observe in different habitats, and learn from community experts. This five-day study trip is conducted in partnership with four nature centers in Lansing (Woldumar, Harris, Fenner, and Bengel), and with the Kalamazoo Nature Center in Kalamazoo.
In addition to Jerry and Betty Mason's generous support, these organizations contribute to the success of Annie's BIG Nature Lesson:
Dart Foundation: The mission of the Dart Foundation for youth emphasizes math, engineering, and science, with the learning focus on the accuracy and validity of scientific and environmental issues.
Sierra Club's Building Bridges to the Outdoors Project is committed to ensuring that local communities are empowered to connect children with nature.
Clinton County Regional Educational Agency (RESA) strives to provide educational opportunities for learners of all ages.
