Annie's BIG Nature Lesson was established in 2002 by Betty and Jerry Mason of Kalamazoo, Michigan, providing an education program for students, teachers, and parents to develop meaningful connections with nature. Students learn about the natural world, local environmental issues, and general ecology as they conduct field investigations, observe in different habitats, and learn from community experts. This five-day study trip is conducted in partnership with Lansing's five nature centers and mid-Michigan school districts.
