The BIG Lesson |
| The BIG Lesson is a partnership between community resources and mid-Michigan schools. Teachers and students use nature centers, zoos, and museums as their classrooms for an indepth learning experiences, changing the concept of "field trip" to a study trip in which students engage in scientific inquiry and cooperative research, with extended time for writing and sketching. The partnership integrates curriculum with immersion learning in the real world, with teachers and content experts working together at each community site. Students, teachers, and parents make personal connections with community resources, conduct stewardship projects, and gain a deeper understanding of the world. |
